Causes of Damage

There are innumerable factors that are responsible for causing damage to historical artifacts and antiques. The most common cause of damage to organic objects is the storage or display of objects in inappropriate environments. The damage is also caused by the exposure of these objects to light, extreme temperature and other environment. In addition to this, natural factors like dirt, dust, insects and pesticides are also responsible for damaging these artifacts. Careless handling and improper cleaning could also damage these art pieces.
